These are fabulous protein packed little bites. Ideal as a healthy snack and a great post workout recovery fuel. If you’re craving something sweet then reach for one of these little treats instead of a chocolate bar. A good bedtime choice too to balance blood sugars and support muscle recovery and repair.  You can keep the sugar content down by using stevia or xylitol to sweet.  Vary the flavours too.  I used raw cacao to make chocolate bites but you could leave this out and add vanilla extract or almond extract instead. To keep these paleo you could use  Paleo Protein Powder from BioSynergy.or Paleo Protein by Protein Works – both are delicious

These are delicious – make up a big batch and freeze until needed.

What’s good about it?

Cacao is a top source of antioxidants, and it contains an abundance of magnesium and iron. This is a fabulous healthy treat and a great way to satisfy chocolate cravings.

  1. Place all the ingredients in a bowl except the coconut or almond milk and mix together. Add enough milk alternative to form a stiff dough.
  2. Roll the mixture into walnut size balls and dust in a little desiccated coconut or raw cacao powder
  3. Store in the fridge until required
