If you’re like me and have loads of home grown fruit then why not try this delicious paleo fruit crumble. This is perfect for using up ripe fruit and can be made with all types of fruits including bags of frozen fruit. Ideal as a breakfast option, dessert or snack I love serving this with homemade coconut yogurt.

Plum & Apple Crisp

What’s good about it?

Packed with fibre from the fruit plus protein and healthy fats with the addition of nuts and seeds in the topping this is a simple healthy dessert. Great for the children and an ideal grain free, lower sugar version of a traditional crumble.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4.
  2. Place the apples and plums in a baking dish.
  3. Grind up the almonds until very fine in a high-speed blender or food processor. In a large bowl, combine the almonds, flaxseed, salt, and spices.
  4. Mix together the oil and syrup together then with your hands mix this into the almond mixture to form a crumbly dough.
  5. Gently work in chopped pecans with your hands
  6. Sprinkle this over the fruit.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 40 minutes until golden and crisp.
  8. Serve with coconut yogurt or a nut cream
